ENGINES

Our engine options vary as much as our customers. We can rebuild to factory specs. Or build you a full racing engine. A lot depends on what you are looking for your RX-7 to do.

We offer many types of porting including oil and coolant passage porting. Engine porting can be very mild, such as for everyday driving to as radical as you want to get. If you need porting done let us know what bolt'ons you are using such as exhaust pipes and intakes, and we will port to match.

Blueprinting, balancing and matching are all done to suit your budget. When we receive your engine, we will completely disassemble and check for wear or what needs to be replaced.

Then you are contracted with all the information and options available to you so you can make an informed decision.

LIMITED ENGINE WARRANTY

1. Definitions :

KDR Rebuilt Engine, installed or shipped to owner as basic engine block and internal parts of the exchange engine. Does NOT include Mazda Remanufactured engines.

2. Terms :

Rebuilt engines have a Limited Warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever occurs first from the date of purchase. Engine warranties require normal maintenance. This includes oil and filter changes every 3000 miles. Oil and filter must be changed after first 500 miles after installation. If your vehicle is modified and you have a programmable ECU you must have your vehicle professionally tuned after the break-in period.

3. Repair or Replacement:

This Warranty applies to an engine which has been promptly reported by the purchaser within the warranty period, as defective in workmanship and is so found by KDR upon inspection. Engine to be examined, replaced, or repaired at KDR facilities must be returned to KDR facility as a complete sealed unit, and not taken apart by owner or anyone else, within the warranty period, transportation charges prepaid, if the engine is found to be defective in workmanship and requiring warranty repairs, the freight of the engine only can be refunded upon request and receipt of the original shipping charges. Examination and repairs or replacement of such engine will effect at the sellers facility at no charge to the purchaser for the parts and labor expended. If the engine is NOT found to be defective due to workmanship or is not within the warranty coverage, KDR's service time expended will be charged to the purchaser. If the repairs of the engine are not covered by warranty, KDR will NOT make any repairs without written permission. Purchaser shall be responsible for maintenance and service procedures consistent with normal operations.

4. Warranty Limitations :

The warranty is voided by any of the following:

1. Any repair or replacement as a result of misuse, negligence, alterations, accidents, fire, or failure of any component other than the engine rebuild.
2. Improper installation or repair.
3. Use of engine in competitive events.
4. Failure to follow the recommended maintenance requirements.
5. Any repair or replacement of normal wear and tear.
6. Lack of lubrication or overheating.
7. Any gear failure.
8. Any broken, cracked, or chipped apex seal.
9. Any warped, flattened or melted seals or springs.
10. Any repair due to overheating either the oil system or cooling system.

The following are at the expense and obligation of the purchaser, whether installed at KDR or shipped to the purchaser.

1. Required maintenance services, lubrication and fluids.
2. Replacement of service items such as spark plugs, gaskets, etc.
3. Engine ignition, electrical and fuel system inspections, or repairs without limitation.
4. Engine cooling system servicing, radiator flow check, repair or replacement as advised.
5. Oil cooler and line flush.

5. Limited Liability

1. A. KDR's liability under this warranty is solely limited to the repair or replacement of the purchased or installed engine for workmanship. The labor required to remove and reinstall from vehicle ( if not performed by KDR), and any other expenses relating to turnover, freight, and other incidental charges for defective unit are NOT reimbursable. It is understood and agreed to that KDR's limited liability whether in contract, in tort, under any warranty, in negligence or otherwise shall not exceed the return of the amount of the original purchase price paid by the purchaser.


2. B. KDR shall not be liable for any consequential, incidental, or special damages including without limitations, labor charges, shipping fees, diagnostic labor, auto rental, towing, etc.

6. Limited Warranty

This warranty is in lieu of all other express or implied warranties of KDR. KDR does not assume or authorize any distributor, dealer, agent or employee to enlarge or extend this warranty, or to assume obligations on its behalf.

7. Transferability of warranty

This warranty is non-transferable between the original purchaser and subsequent purchaser.
